  • We replaced an old, cheap water bar faucet. We were worried about how well it would fit (it's twice as tall) and how easy it would be to install. It installed quickly and easily, and is so much better than the old one! The on/off handle is great, much better than holding down a plastic switch. The water tastes wonderful, no funny tastes at all. I wish we had done this a long time ago!

  • Great RO system. Make sure all of the filter part numbers are correct for the replacement. Also, found out from the manufacturer that only the 3 basic filters are needed to be replaced annually. The other two filters #4 and #5 filters are to be replaced every 4 to 5 years. That would have saved us money.

  • It didn’t really help our sulfate issue at all on well water. Maybe this was not the right product for that. We did eventually get it resolved. Bleach shock and new softener was the fix. This review is mainly to show the inside of the unit. It is full and heavy so it get 3 starts neutral I guess.

Another GREAT product from APEC. This unit looks good, but better than that, works well. The valving is smooth. We use this unit in conjunction with an APEC water filter for our house drinking water and cooking water in the kitchen. This unit fit well in an older sink - it was a standard Home Depot - Lowe's type sink, nothing custom, so the faucet should fit in most, if not all, newer sinks (ours is 30 years old). The style and color blends in well with other fixtures of the same finish. I had this installed by my regular plumber while some other work was being done, so I can't speak to the ease of installation, but the plumber said it went in and hooked up just fine.

  • Some reviewers complain about the lack of a packaging bag or the soft rubber plug, but that soft rubber plug is exactly what keeps the cartridge pristine. When I removed the plug a pressurized cover gas flowed out. Purpose of the Cover Gas: The soft rubber plug and the pressurized gas found in your APEC FI-ES-TCR-QC 10" High Capacity Inline Carbon Filter serve a critical role in preserving the filter's effectiveness during storage. The pressurized cover gas, often an inert or dry gas, is used to protect the activated carbon inside the filter from prematurely adsorbing contaminants such as moisture, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and odors from the surrounding air. Activated carbon is highly porous and begins adsorbing contaminants as soon as it is exposed to air. If the carbon were exposed during storage, its adsorption capacity would be reduced before it is ever used in your water system. So, don't remove the plug until you are ready to install.

  • Hey guys, I’ve owned several APEC RO systems and RO-Twist works well for my current kitchen setup. I’ve had their standard RO50 in my other properties, although they worked well, they are bulkier and messier to change filters. If you have the cabinet space, RO90 is probably the better option due to longer filter life. RO Twist is more for people who prefer a clean filter change, and free up more cabinet space. APEC also have a tankless system, but those systems and filters do come at a premium $. RO Twist Water Leak (I have the earlier version): First is the leaking issue with my RO-Twist (check photos), 8-9 months into owning the system it started to develop a leak on the filter head, it was leaking in the seams between the 1st and 2nd filter. I used JB Water Weld putty to patch it, and the leaking stopped for another year before it started dripping again last week, that’s when I contacted APEC. Thank God I had a wireless leak detector from Govee. APEC were quick to ship out a new/redesigned filter head along with a leak detection shut-off valve (check photo for placement). When comparing the old and the new design, you can see that they decided to go back to the tried and true way of connecting different filter heads, which is using the push-to-connect fittings/tubing which can take much higher pressure and is leak free as long as water pressure in your house is less than 80 psi (my home is 55psi). Water damage can be very expensive and most insurance will even drop you from these type of damage claims. Here are the preventative countermeasures I use and recommend: 1. RO Leak Detector shut-off valve: Mount this to the ground surface where water is most likely to gather, and it’s installed between the red tubing from the tap to the RO (before 1st filter). If water is leaking, the expansion cloth inside the cap of the shut-off valve will trigger the spring loaded switch to cut-off water supply to the RO. 2. Govee Wi-Fi Water Leak Detector (Uses Govee App): I have about 20 of these throughout my home, 3 under the kitchen sink, and I have them under the dishwasher, water softener, washer, fridge, and under every sink and behind every toilet in the house. This was the detector that alerted me to the initial RO leak, without it this would have caused water damage. I was able to get to it when it was only a few drops of water! 3. If you look at the pictures I posted, under both the RO-Twist and the ReadyHot tank, I have leak trays placed directly underneath them. I then place a Govee water leak detector in each of them. This is your first line of defense should there be a leak. 4 (Optional): Moen Flow, this is a whole house leak detection / shut off / remote wireless control. This system takes professional install, it’s expensive and takes time to adjust and calibrate to prevent unwanted shutoff. The good thing about this and Govee’s system is you can monitor remotely, and with the Moen Flow you can shutoff water to your entire home remotely from anywhere in the world with internet access. Also for people who question the filter life, it has a lot to do with how much you use, and the quality of the water that’s coming in. My untreated water is sub 200ppm, which is low (my other properties are 300-350 ppm), and my water softener also removes the harder minerals which extends the life of the RO filters. My current filter is close to 1.5 years of usage and still output 6-7ppm. If your water source is really bad, you might want to consider getting the RO90 instead, and perhaps a water softener. I also highly recommend HM Digital DM-1, an In-line TDS detector, only takes about 5 mins to install, and it makes it so much easier to test your water purity in a way that’s consistent. Finally I want to thank APEC for their quick response to my issue even though it was outside of warranty, and they quickly sent me the newly redesigned RO Twist Head + leak detector shut-off valve, and answered all the questions I had, service was excellent. (I was not paid or given anything for this review, I just like the product.)

  • My fridge took 45 seconds to fill my bottle, figured there had to be a better way, cause it's not like the fridge had an RO filtration system. Found this filter, but it was a huge pain to get it to work because I didn't want to use my existing sink since I wanted something meant for drinking water, so I got a Krause faucet, the only faucet that I've found to not use the quick connect fittings, since I wanted hard line fittings. I searched online to find various adaptors which none worked, but after going to Home Depot and screwing the faucet into their gauge chart, I found the size of the faucet was 1/4 compression and asked someone there how I could adapt from 3/8 to 1/4 compression and he immediately gave me an answer, not sure how he figured it out so quickly, but I'm very grateful cause it worked perfectly. I posted a picture of the adaptors and hose I needed to make it work for anyone else that wants to save themselves a headache. Anyway as for the filter, I did a test with this filter and my fridge and they both came out the same. My tap is 78 TDS and the fridge and this filter is 76. It does not do much for TDS, but it does get rid of the chlorine taste. Eventually I will switch to RO, but not until I get the Aqara leak detection setup, because RO has so many quick connect fittings and I just don't trust it. I am a bit disappointed that one of the fittings had to be brass instead of stainless, but even my fridge used brass fittings, so I'll just have to deal with it until I switch to RO. Anyway it cut my time from 45 seconds to under 10 to fill up my bottle now so I'm happy.

  • Installed and my water in worse than before installation. Ordered the whole home filter/conditioner house water was around 200ppm now it's almost 400ppm

  • May I begin with admitting I know little to nothing regarding the inclusions that under-the-sink osmosis systems should have? But I do feel secure in stating that everything needed IS included within this enlightening package! After ordering, I was reading various related articles as my knowledge was so limited that I wanted to make sure I was aware of anything pertinent down the road. I found that a "dedicated faucet" was one. The faucet is most often placed in the sink spray area or hole beside the main faucet on deck. I believe it's called? I included a visual print of my sink with the circled beside the main faucet noted for reference if anyone might find it informative as I did. If I may mention that the knowledge of forethought is best left to the experts in some situations? This is most defiantly one! Although I personally had overlooked the importance of a designated faucet? The experts did not as a very stylish one came included to my delight! Again the experts know what is needed and have included EVERYTHING within this system! Also, to include the most detailed directions, most anyone could easily follow! With one exception, that being myself, a party of one. Please excuse me, but upon reading the through & precise directions? I digress to a need for a more knowledgable field of expertise as indeed the step-by-step directions are understandable in form? My brain refused comprehension and preferred to locate one whose brain is more of the left side? As mine tends to be of the right side most often in DIY projects! Lol. Proven by the "idea" of production sounds fab at the moment, along with confidence in thinking, "I can do that!" But ending with an "I don't know how to do that?" And as now well informed as I am? I think it best to leave this installation process to someone smarter in correct proceedings than I know I am not! This is an impressive system & I am ecstatic in use? But I want this done right, not as I would attempt. I will update as soon as installed, but I can say with complete confidence that the reverse osmosis system will take my water from foul to fabulous, and I am VERY much looking forward to using it!

  • This was boxed with a tire chemical I also ordered. There was no shrink-wrapping like other filters from APEC or even end caps to keep foreign matter out of the filter. It was completely bare and open to the surrounding environment, so I did not feel confident that I could add this into my RO system without contaminating the rest of the system.

  • This wrench is the wrong size for an RO system.

Buyer beware, while this is nicely crafted and works well, they have emblazoned their APEC Water logo on the circular end of the valve area, drastically reducing the “designer” appeal. I have had an earlier version of this faucet which did not have the logo on the side and would have kept looking for alternatives had they had accurate pictures listed in the description. Not happy.

Works great. Had a little issue with figuring out what holes were the control holes for the shut off lines. The blue side is the waste water side and the white side is the fresh water side.

This product arrived on time and came with clear instructions. I replaced it in a few minutes and connected it the same way as my old one. No more running water in the drain.

  • I don't do much reviews but I really like this system and the water tasted great. I did alot of research and decided to go with this system for my first RO system because it came with uv filtration and akalinize the water. Instructions and installation was straight foward. I had no leaks. The thing I was confused about was the uv beaker and oring. I didn't see any instructions for that unless I overlooked it but ive included some pictures how to install it and also the uv installed first. Ive saw alot of reviews complaining about the water coming out hot from the uv sterilizer so I decided to go with installing the uv sterilizer at the beginning of the system. You can just install the way it just run the water till all the hot water is out the system. My thought behind installing the uv first was that the water would be sterilized first before going into the filters so there wouldn't be any organism living in the filters and also the water would have time to cool down from the uv. There's directions how to reverse the uv in the picture gallery from a other reviewer. Tap water 284 tds, filtered 42 tds. Bottled water was 32 tds, 8 tds difference. Overall great system!
