Ordered this "APEC Water Systems GREEN-CARBON-10 Premium Whole House Water Filter System" back in July (2024). But I did not have the guts to do the install myself. So ended up waiting until Dec (2024) to have my plumber buddy come over to do it for me. The price, er, time, you spend to wait for a friend (ha ha). Anyway, this unit did install pretty easy, with the additional install kit offered by APEC (at an additional cost), along with a couple of SharkBite Hoses from the local depot. Probably wouldn't need these items if you are capable of copper plumbing work yourself or are paying for that service. So far this system is working fantastic. I had used the old salt type softeners throughout my lifetime, but this style works just as effective, much healthier, and with pretty much no maintenance! I did also install the whole house pre-filter along with a descaler (see pics) to help increase the life expectancy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this APEC system, for those who live where hard water is all you can get.

I used a water tester on my tap water which showed a reading of 272 ppm. After installing the filter and flushing it for about 5 minutes, the supposed filtered water was actually worse than the tap water and showed a reading of 280 ppm. It appears whatever is inside the filter is being released causing more pollution in my water. Not recommended!!!

Filter arrived unwrapped in general box with another stuff what I ordered. No plug or cap on the and of filter. Really disappointed. How to return have no idea.

The elbows illuminate with the light. They didn’t have any sealant tape on them and felt kind of loose. Wrapped them before install and no leaks so far.

Apec Ro Membrane after flush 5 min, Oahu Hawaii incoming Water 182 PPM, after Stage 123, Then Ro Membrane 10 TDS. Third Photo Flushing Stage 5 Carbon Filter, Next Photo Stage 6 Alkaline, After Flushing for 5 Minutes, still white cloud. At 55 PSI incoming water almost 1:1 Water to Drain Ratio. I also installed Aquatec ERP-500 Permeate Pump, to conserve drain water. HawaiiSplitAc.com

The filter didn't come in any packaging. Also the plug ends are different from the ones I usually get and not the official ones. There's also a weird sealing around it that the previous ones didn't have. I'm going to attempt to return it because I don't feel safe using it.

We formally purchased another line of filters for a different under-sink RO system and would spend $200 every 3 months and it required us shutting down our system and purging it for 24 hours. This system can be used within 15 minutes of installing/replacing filters. The water quality is even better. Although the filters do create waste once you dispose, it isn't in comparison to the hundreds of plastic bottles that create even more waste and hazards. We live in a town where water filtration is subpar and very hard. The drinks you make with our water vs. this filter can't compare in clarity alone. I only gave it 4 stars for installation due to the fact that most under-sink units aren't easily accessible and require some maneuvering on floor level, but overall straightforward. We date and mark each filter with the corresponding order of installation to ensure we properly install them and change them out timely. In the pictures you will see a glass of tea, with the same tea concentration, with the same steeping times, same brand. The difference is one on the left is from the tap source no filtration and the one on the right is filtered with APEC. The smell alone was a stark contrast before the clarity and taste was addressed. We used a flashlight to show the murkiness of the one on the left (a) vs. the one on the right (B) in two of the pictures. Just an overall great investment.

Love it! Matches faucet contours. Hooked up to a 'Woder 10k Genll' water purification under sink, now we have a faucet w/filtered water. Just don't understand exposed rubber washer/gasket at base, I would think it would be concealed or some type hard plastic. The rubber is just going to deteriorate. Instructions illustration is not really clear as far as the washer options/placement.

Inspect the new filter before taking out old filter Returns the package if you have to , in my case, I have to use one of the old filter mixing with the new one because I threw the old one prior unpacked the new filter

I repurchased this filter system 3 times already. In the pictures you can see my old filter. Just look at how much gross stuff was in there. The filter is an absolute necessity. Water tastes much better. Husband installed it and he said it was not difficult.

Received OPEN unprotected items/filters. Effectively these filters are damaged and totally unhygienic -- disgusting considering that these are for drinking water / human consumption.

Does exactly what it should and seems very high quality. Really happy with this purchase!

I used this filter which came with my new APEC RO system. It did it's job for several months before my water started tasting flat. Recommended replacement interval is 6 to 12 months. Unfortunately, the replacement filter does not come with any packaging. No shrink wrap. No plastic bag. Nothing. I can't even tell if some tried to use and return it. This is potentially unhygienic so I had to switch to another brand.
