This Leak Detector / Shut-Off is an inexpensive device to ensure that if your APEC Water system (also works with other systems) develops a leak, this will quickly detect and shut down the water supply. There are a few videos to help with the installation. Better than dealing with a flood.

This device may prevent leaks from the water line in, but if there is a leak elsewhere from one filter unit to the next, this device is useless. Take time to examine all the connections to ensure proper fit and function at the installation, then you don’t need this device at all.

When the spring pushes the handle back to close the water valve, the small plastic notch is weak and may break. This could allow the spring to push the handle beyond 90 degrees, causing the water valve to open.

Not even close to the item pictured. Much cheaper product. Broke when attempted to test it. DO NOT BUY! **UPDATE** The company APEC reached out to offer a full refund. They have also updated the images to show the actual product. APEC as a company seems to make great products(their RO systems are the best), but this product is a very poor design. I would not be comfortable using this to prevent a leak.
