I purchased to add a 1 micron filter after the fist 5 micron filter. It arrived with black specs in it and the inlet broken, with black marks on the bottom of the canister. Not impressed for the price.
EDIT: ordered replacement and got a brand new one that was in perfect working condition.

I have very high water pressure where I live. Over the course of 5 years with my APEC filter I have had 2 housings split open and leak water everywhere on me thus far. The replacement works well, hopefully no more leaks for a few more years!
Wrong item was shipped initially, but they quickly replaced it with the correct one.

An easy and dependable water filter housing. These do NOT have the leak-prone safety valve like so many others do. I will never have filter housings with those leak-prone valves again. I have three of these in series and it’s easy to hook them up because of the quick shark-bite style fittings, and I have good quality carbon block filters with a tiny micron size and my water is great.

Had to buy this housing to hold our filter for rusty water at our campground. The filter worked great but after we changed the filter the housing started leaking around the cap. We had to make a gasket from a kit we got at the auto parts store. That did the trick for little money.

I tried just replacing the O-rings, but that didn’t fix the leak. If the housing was cracked, it was impossible to tell. However, replacing it solved the problem. Next time, I will keep it simple and just start by replacing this part

We installed an APEC ROES-50 system a little over a year ago and one of the filter housings cracked. Although it is good that a replacement part is available, I feel that the system is too fragile for it to crack in just 14 months. Not to mention that if each replacement is overpriced as I need to buy a whole housing and not just the bottom screw-on part.

Very easy to adapt. I bought some 1/4in. Food grade water line and a fluoride filter, it went together with ease. I use this as a “pre” filter to remove fluoride and then it flows into my refrigerator’s charcoal filter. Plenty of pressure, no leaks in the filter casing and safer, clean water!
