   I used this filter which came with my new APEC RO system. It did it’s job for several months before my water started tasting flat. Recommended replacement interval is 6 to 12 months. Unfortunately, the replacement filter does not come with any packaging. No shrink wrap. No plastic bag. Nothing. I can’t even tell if some tried to use and return it. This is potentially unhygienic so I had to switch to another brand.

   The filter didn’t come in any packaging. Also the plug ends are different from the ones I usually get and not the official ones. There’s also a weird sealing around it that the previous ones didn’t have. I’m going to attempt to return it because I don’t feel safe using it.

   It’s not SUPER easy to replace but in my mind it’s absolutely worth it. My husband who is no handy man puts them together and they work great without leaking. The peace of mind these give me that our water is clean and my family is healthy is wonderful. We also love the taste! No sulfur-smelling well water in our drinking water.

   Product was dirty had no end caps or plastic wrap on the product. Ended up just paying $13 more to buy it from the manufacturer. Edit product from the manufacture looked the same but was not dirty and wasn’t scratched all up.

    The item arrived completely unpackaged, no plastic around it, and both ends were open so it was probably used already, and definitely contaminated either way. YUCK!

    We have used the same previous stage 6 filter multiple times before, and this new one we just changed out to leaked and flooded our floor. It is at the outflow connection point. It is not due to pressure; the rest of the system stages are fine and everything was fine and maintained well for years. It must be due to faulty sealing with the connection piece on this cartridge. We returned it and ordered a new one, hoping that this is just a one-time fluke of a faulty unit.

    If the second doesnt work, we will just go back to the 5 stage only. Is anyone else experiencing this?
