   My fridge took 45 seconds to fill my bottle, figured there had to be a better way, cause it’s not like the fridge had an RO filtration system. Found this filter, but it was a huge pain to get it to work because I didn’t want to use my existing sink since I wanted something meant for drinking water, so I got a Krause faucet, the only faucet that I’ve found to not use the quick connect fittings, since I wanted hard line fittings. I searched online to find various adaptors which none worked, but after going to Home Depot and screwing the faucet into their gauge chart, I found the size of the faucet was 1/4 compression and asked someone there how I could adapt from 3/8 to 1/4 compression and he immediately gave me an answer, not sure how he figured it out so quickly, but I’m very grateful cause it worked perfectly. I posted a picture of the adaptors and hose I needed to make it work for anyone else that wants to save themselves a headache. Anyway as for the filter, I did a test with this filter and my fridge and they both came out the same. My tap is 78 TDS and the fridge and this filter is 76. It does not do much for TDS, but it does get rid of the chlorine taste. Eventually I will switch to RO, but not until I get the Aqara leak detection setup, because RO has so many quick connect fittings and I just don’t trust it. I am a bit disappointed that one of the fittings had to be brass instead of stainless, but even my fridge used brass fittings, so I’ll just have to deal with it until I switch to RO. Anyway it cut my time from 45 seconds to under 10 to fill up my bottle now so I’m happy.

   Installed new cabinets and sink, wanted to add a filter. I went with this one because the water lines connect with compression fittings and I felt more confident about leaks. Only bad thing is you have to shut off the water valve to change the filter and many under sink filters don’t need that.

   Yes, it is easy to install–or better said designed to be easy. Plumbing, ya know, is often where men’s good language fades. Not the fault of APEC. Beware the two hoses included with the kit are 30 inch 3/8 fiber-reinforced plastic lines. They should work if the 3/8-inch female fittings fit your plumbing. Here on the West Coast, including Arizona, Nevada, etc., most under-sink plumb fittings are 1/2 inch. So, you’re possibly looking at least one trip to the hardware store. I had to buy two 30-inch lines with 1/2 inch female on one end and 3/8 inch female on the other end. Beware that if you turn off the water valve on an old water valve, the hardened cone washer inside will start to leak–and you could have bigger problems. If you’re not up to fixing these potential problems . . . . . . Yes, the water coming from the APEC filter tastes very good but an osmosis filtering system produces better-tasting water. Ya get what you pay for. I wanted a one-filter system, and as a bonus, the canister is a simple twist-off, twist-on replaceble canister without disturbing any else. I’m very happy with this.

   I am replacing a 10 year old GE under sink filter with this APEC. I chose this one because it had threaded connectors and my GE had sprung leaks at the non-threaded junctions. The installation of the APEC was fairly easy from the product standpoint. My challenge was the tight space below the counter where I attached the feed line to the counter-side faucet. I added a shut off valve between the angle stop and the line to the filter so I could isolate it when time to change the filter. The APEC has been functioning now for about two weeks, the water is free of chlorine taste and makes great coffee. The water in my city is fairly hard (dissolved minerals) and the GAC filter doesn’t ‘soften’ the water, though it says it filters out90% of iron, lead, copper and some other stuff, but I can’t tell, I can tell the chlorine smell/taste is gone. I’m happy with it so far, we’ll see how long it lasts. The insert says 6 months – 1 year depending on use and condition of water in.

   I like the design of this filter system. Will never buy another filter system with push-in hoses. The leak all the time under pressure! Now this filter system is on a whole other level than push-in hoses. You screw in the connectors with a standard 3\8 connector from the filter to the supply line. Then screw the outlet line to the drinking faucet. It’s that easy! The best part? The lines can handle more pressure and less likely to leak under pressure. How does the water tastes? After flushing it for 5 minutes to clear the haziness (recommended by manufacturer) it tastes clean with no plastic smell or after-taste. On a side note, I wished the hardware store had a 30″ 3\8 to 3\8 steel-braided line to make it look aesthetically nice. I had to change the outlet line because it was a 3\8 to 1\2 (at the faucet) line. I didn’t like the plastic hose but that’s just a personal preference.

   Easy installation. The only difficulty came from the limited space under my sink. Installed filter and water came out. No leaks. Pressure is a little lower, but I expected that. My flow rate is about 1.8 GPM and this has a flow rate of 1.67. filled up a glass of water and my first response was, “What in the name of all things holy is this!?!” See picture. This isn’t my first filter and I have never seen anything like it. Is this safe to drink? Why does it appear to be carbonated? Why does no one else mention this in the review. This took me a lot of effort to install and I don’t want to take it apart before I can call the company tomorrow. But I surely won’t be drinking any water from my tap until then. Will update after. Update: turns out they’re air bubbles. And after 10-15 gallons have passed through the filter, the number of air bubbles/qt have reduced to about 1/3 their initial presence. I still have to wait for the water to calm down or drinking feels weird.

   They fit pneumatic lines instead of hydraulics. Maybe guess that’s American standard. apecwateroutlet.com sold this on apecwateroutlet.com SG. So be very careful.

   We have used this filter type for several years with total satisfaction. It is located in our basement under the kitchen with feeds to the refrigerator ice maker and a dedicated filtered water small faucet. Changing the filter takes only a minute or so. Good tasting water and usually lasts about a year (2 people). Highly recommended!

    I replaced a new waterdrop filter with this and am very happy. It’s been in for 1 month, so I will follow up if there is any issue, but so far so good.

    The water tastes great and comes out of the tap with more pressure. Waterdrop had a plastic, almost moldy taste after 3 months.

I needed something that would retain the minerals but still give me the same filtration that I expect from a high quality system. This was easy to install ,less than half hour. I didn’t notice any difference in the performance or flow of water after attaching it to my sink. I bought the used version and it was a great value for my money I bought a second one.
